Discernment of Spirits Retreats Hold Franciscan Wisdom

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity are inviting single, Catholic Women age 20-32 to two Discernment of Spirits Retreats November 15-17, 2019 at our Motherhouse, 2409 South Alverno Road, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Although the retreats are truly based on St. Ignatius' discernment process, our Franciscan Sister Jacqueline Spaniola will be guiding the days. It is hoped that this saintly tried wisdom will help you understand God's will for your life. Retreat begins with the evening meal on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and closes on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Click here to register.

As we begin this week of the Feast of St. Francis, our patron saint's admonitions may be a source of strength and understanding for those discerning God's will and contemplating a retreat weekend with us.

"Where there is charity and wisdom,
there is neither fear nor ignorance.
Where there is patience and humility,
there is neither anger nor disturbance.
Where there is poverty with joy,
there is neither greed nor avarice.
Where these is rest and meditation,
there is neither anxiety nor restlessness.
Where there is fear of the Lord to guard an entrance,
there the enemy cannot have a place to enter.
Where there is a heart full of mercy and discernment,
there is neither excess nor hardness of heart."
